Royal Belgian Institute for Natural Sciences - Gallery of Humankind
How does the human body work? What are its primary functions? How can you imprint this story so visitors leave not only with scientific understanding, but a stirring of emotion and sense of awe and wonder about where we have come from and how we exist? Mannequins positioned throughout the exhibition come to life to explain our biological systems from pregnancy to the nervous system. With a narrated voice over they rotate through a series of visual transitions from a vibrant conceptual overview, peering into animated illustrations of the body's vital organs to a deep dive into microscopic cellular visuals. This exhibition is part of the permanent collection.
